Alpines

Alpine plants are often defined as those which normally grow above 1000m (about 3300ft )They are usually small, compact but beautiful plants adapted to surviving the harsh conditions high up.

The pictures here were all taken in mountainous regions around Europe.

Every care has been taken in naming them but latin names keep changing, common names  are unreliable and identification is often difficult - so there are no guarantees.
